FADE – Privacy Policy

Fade respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal data responsibly and transparently.

This Privacy Policy explains: what information we collect; how we collect it; why we collect it; how it is used; which third parties receive it (including third-party AI services); how long we retain data (including face data); and how you can delete your data. By using the Fade mobile application, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Fade only collects information necessary to provide its features.

A. Images You Upload

We collect images that you voluntarily upload, including:

• Face photos
• Hair scans
• Haircut scans
• Product scans
• Progress images
• Images uploaded within AskFade for analysis or guidance

Images are used to generate AI-based analysis, scores, and recommendations within the app, and may also be used for verification purposes as described below.

B. Onboarding Information

During onboarding, we collect information you choose to provide, including:

• Gender
• Date of birth
• Where you found Fade (e.g. social media, referral, search)
• Hair goals and preferences
• Style interests

This information is used to: personalise recommendations; improve user experience; understand how users discover Fade. Fade does not use onboarding data for advertising profiling or sale.

C. Scan Results & Progress Data

We store: AI-generated scan results; scores and improvement estimates; progress tracking data over time. This allows users to track changes and trends.

D. AskFade Inputs

When using AskFade, we collect: text prompts you submit; images you upload for guidance. These inputs are used only to generate AI-based responses and are not used for advertising.

E. Usage & Technical Data

We may collect limited technical and usage data, such as:

• Feature interactions
• App performance and stability data
• Error and crash logs

This data is used only to maintain and improve app functionality.

F. How We Collect Information

We collect information when you: enter it in the app; take or choose photos; submit prompts or images; and use features that generate scan results. Data is transmitted securely (HTTPS) to our servers and to third-party providers where required.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use collected data to:

• Analyse images using AI
• Generate haircut, styling, and improvement guidance
• Respond to AskFade requests
• Track progress over time
• Improve performance and reliability
• Maintain platform integrity and prevent misuse (including verification)

We do not use your data for unrelated purposes.

3. What We Do NOT Do

Fade does not:

• Sell personal data or images
• Share images with advertisers
• Use images for biometric identification
• Create identity profiles or track users across external databases
• Judge or assign personal value

Images are analysed to calculate visual traits and may be used internally to verify authenticity of uploads.

4. Image Consent & User Responsibility

Users must only upload images:

• Of themselves; or
• Of others where explicit consent has been obtained

Uploading images without consent is prohibited.

FADE may request verification (e.g. additional images or real-time capture) to confirm that a user is the individual depicted. Failure to comply may result in removal or bans.

4A. Leaderboard & Public Data

If you choose to participate in the leaderboard:

• Your images, scores, username, and attributes may be publicly visible
• Content may be copied, shared, or screenshotted by others
• FADE cannot guarantee privacy once content is public

Participation is optional and content can be removed, but copies may persist outside FADE.

5. AI Processing & Accuracy

All outputs are AI-generated and probabilistic.

Results may be inaccurate or incomplete.

They are for guidance only and not guarantees.

6. Third-Party AI (OpenAI)

We use OpenAI to process images and text.

Data sent may include uploaded images and prompts.

Processing occurs on OpenAI systems and may be temporarily retained for safety and compliance.

7. Data Storage & Security

We take reasonable measures to protect data, but no system is fully secure.

8. Data Retention

Data is retained while your account is active or until deleted.

Facial images are retained to provide history and recommendations.

Leaderboard content remains visible until removed and may persist in copies made by others.

9. Data Deletion & Control

You may delete all data via Settings → Delete My Data.

10. Facial Data

Facial images are used to analyse proportions and generate recommendations.

FADE does not perform biometric identification or external identity matching.

Images may be used internally for verification purposes.

11. Your Rights

You may access, correct, delete, or request your data.

Handled by app stores. We do not store payment details.

13. Children’s Privacy

Not intended for users under 15.

14. Changes

We may update this policy.
